Spiritual Battle

The Bible tells us there is a spiritual battle raging around us. It also shows us how to fight victoriously in this battle.

We read in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5:

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

We need to visualize ourselves in the midst of this battle, suited up in all our armor, fighting off the attacks of the devil. A soldier would never choose to enter battle without the proper weapon. In the same way, we should never choose to enter spiritual battle without God's word. Since the Rhema booklets are small enough to fit in your pocket or purse, you should carry them with you at all times. Scripture is your spiritual sword - use it as frequently as necessary!

Deuteronomy 11:18 - 19 states:

Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

When you feel attacked or are tempted to sin, take out your Rhema booklet and use the word of God to fight off the attack. Read these verses aloud - even shout them if necessary!

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
